Local business wants to share its success in Maidstone

A Maidstone-based retailer is using its position in consumer flooring by working with local partners, having held their first “Commercial Day” at their newly refurbished design studio on Linton Hill.

Wood and Stone Floors specially selected business owners and operators in the areas of construction, architecture and interior design. They were invited to learn about ways they could increase their own sales, as well as offer customers wider choice and improved quality without necessary increasing costs.

The local retailer shared how they are opening up their shop facilities to third parties that might benefit from the free use of conferencing facilities, design and technical support and a bespoke loyalty scheme that shares the benefits of increased sales with all.

Met on arrival with refreshments and sandwiches, the exclusive guests were given an opportunity to learn how to move customers away from cheap laminate flooring, as well as showing all the features and benefits of new technologies - such as the highly desirable and future-proof porcelain flooring range.

“I didn’t realise you could offer a quality wood floor to a customer that wouldn’t cost the earth.” said Kevin, a local contractor, “I’ve just been putting cheap laminates down, but I think customers are going to prefer the option of real oak.”

The event was just the beginning of Wood and Stone Floors’ strategy of giving increased attention to local businesses. Following great success from their Westerham store in hosting Sevenoaks Chamber of Commerce meetings, visits from local business interest groups and widening their business networks; Maidstone was the obvious next choice to implement their strategy of creating partnerships with associated industries.

“Sometimes it can be easy to forget that many parts of the trade have yet to fully embrace both the commercial and customer benefits of wood and stone flooring.” said Henry Furness, Maidstone Studio Director. “By sharing our expertise, technical know-how and highly competitive pricing, we can pass this on to local businesses where the big corporations can’t.”

Wood and Stone Floors will continue to offer preferential treatment to commercial interests that benefit Maidstone and the surrounding area and urge anyone, trade or consumer, to visit their stunning design showroom at Linton Hill, Maidstone to see their constantly evolving range of quality and competitive flooring products.

Wood and Stone Floors is a family-run retailer of Wood, Stone and Porcelain flooring. From their newly refurbished design studios on Linton Hill, they have a history in the Maidstone area dating back to 2004. Their warehouse and distribution centre has been serving consumers since 2013, with a branch also opening up in Westerham in 2016. Their local success has led to expansion, with the third store opening up in Hitchin, Hertfordshire earlier in 2018.
