Duncan Elson, head of litigation and dispute resolution at Charles Russell Speechlys and head of the firm’s Guildford office has been selected for Legal 500’s inaugural Hall of Fame – a listing of law firm partners who are at the pinnacle of the profession and have been recognised by Legal 500 as an elite leading lawyer for six consecutive years, having received constant praise by clients for continued excellence.
Legal 500 also highlighted seven other partners and associates from the Guildford-based firm as leading individuals or next generation lawyers across numerous practice areas.
In addition, the Legal 500 directory, which is used by businesses and individuals as a highly respected independent resource when selecting an advisor, gave top rankings to a number of the firm’s key practice areas including charities and not-for profit, contentious trusts and probate, family, personal tax, construction, commercial property and property litigation.

Chambers UK, an equally prestigious ratings guide, has also published its findings, with 17 partners from Charles Russell Speechlys in Guildford identified as leading individuals and six lawyers highlighted as ‘associates to watch’. The firm maintained its top rankings for its family/matrimonial, corporate/M&A, restructuring/insolvency, construction and property, litigation practice areas, with market commentators reporting they ‘really are the people you want to have on your side’ and commending ‘their pragmatic and commercial approach’.
