Two site managers from Redrow’s South Eastern division, Zara Fairman and Andy Pearson, have been awarded an NHBC Pride in the Job Award after their sites The Fairways and Ebbsfleet Green were recognised for their ongoing quality. Now in their 38th year, Pride in the Job celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality.
Winning the awards for a consecutive year further demonstrates the commitment of both site managers to consistently deliver above and beyond best practice. With more than 16,000 site managers competing for the awards, this year’s Quality Award winners have been hand-picked for their excellent standards on site. Following 12 months of rigorous judging, these first round winners excelled and will now go on to compete for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Winner titles.
Redrow site managers from 11 different divisions were recognised: London, South East, Lancashire, North West, Yorkshire, Midlands, South Midlands, South Wales, South West, Southern Counties and West Country.
Zara Fairman previously won a Seal of Excellence Award and a Quality Award for her work at St Andrews Park a Redrow development in Halling. Andy Pearson’s success this year means he has won two consecutive NHBC Quality Awards for his ongoing commitment to high-quality work at Ebbsfleet.
Zara Fairman, project site manager at The Fairways, said: “To be recognised for the NHBC Quality Award, one of the most celebrated in our industry, is truly indescribable. Whilst my name is on the certificate, it is a massive team effort from everyone on site, so I would like to thank each of them on their fantastic effort in continuously providing quality throughout the site.”
“The delivery of quality new homes for customers will always be a great love of mine. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing happy new home owners move into their brand new properties.”
Commenting on his win, Ebbsfleet Green’s project site manager Andy Pearson said: “It’s fantastic to see that all the hard work the whole site puts in has been recognised. Managing such a large site with multiple phases running simultaneously can often pose problems, but the continuous high quality of work from everyone involved means we ensure the plots are handed over in the best possible standard.
“I would also like to thank Redrow’s sub-contractors who have provided vital support throughout.”
Commenting on the awards, NHBC chief executive Steve Wood said: “Pride in the Job recognises the hugely important role site managers play in delivering high quality new homes for residents and homeowners across the UK. Their role is undoubtedly one of the toughest in house building, they really do make the difference to quality on site.
“Many congratulations to all of the 2018 Quality Award Winners.”
Following the announcement of the first-round winners, all successful site managers are invited to attend the Regional Award ceremonies held in the Autumn to celebrate their exceptional achievement and go on to compete for a Seal of Excellence and Regional Award in their relevant category.
